Өгөгдөл хадгалалт гэж юу вэ? (What is data storage?)
Data storage basically means that files and documents are digitally recorded and stored in a storage system for future use. Data storage makes it easy to keep files safe and quickly restore your computer, mobile phone or tablet in case of unexpected damage or cyber attack.
Data can be stored on a hard drive, USB drive or in the cloud. The most important thing is to have your files backed up and easily accessible in case your system ever becomes irreparably damaged.
Өгөгдөл хадгалалтын төрлүүд (Data storage types)
There are two main types of data storage, direct attached storage and network attached storage. A variety of devices are used in each category, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages, which we will describe in detail below.
It is clear from the name. These include the types of data storage that actually connect to your computer. To name some examples
Hard drive HHD
Solid-State drive-SSD
Flash drive
CD/DVD(Optic drive) etc...
DAS solutions are cheap and suitable for creating personal backups, but they are difficult to share data between computers.
Network connected storage (NAS)
(NAS) allows storage to be shared across a network of multiple computers. This is accomplished by using multiple hard drives or other storage devices in a RAID configuration. The main advantage is the centralization of data and multi-level access to it. Data can be easily shared between connected devices and access can be restricted by setting permission levels. This solution is more expensive than the previous one, but the efficiency is also high. This type of solution is becoming more suitable for remote work style and the development is accelerating and the cost is decreasing. Some examples of NAS include:
NAS device (actually located on a network, making multiple hard drives)
Cloud storage (Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox) etc...
From this point of view, NAS, including cloud storage, is suitable for business. Cloud storage does not need to place a physical device somewhere, and does not need to worry about power and internet connection. Microsoft Office 365 product allows you to decide on the level of e-mail, online meetings, working on shared data and storing large enough data at once. Microsoft Office 365data at once.
